synopsis

With his provocative lifestyle, Marcel van Maele has always been excluded from Flemish art world. He has never taken anything for granted and never submitted himself to rules - not on a political, social and especially not on a literary level. "The consciousness of people is continuously limited. They only open themselves to what they have learned during their childhood. I don't hate society: I love people but I simply don't want to play along!" he says.
A cause de son mode de vie provocateur, Marcel van Maele a toujours été exclu de la vue d’ensemble du monde artistique. Il n’a jamais rien pris pour acquis et ne s’est jamais soumis aux règles. Ni sur le plan politique, ni sur le plan social et surtout pas sur le plan littéraire. Marcel van Maele : la conscience des gens est continuellement limitée. Ils s’intéressent uniquement à ce qu’ils ont appris pendant leur enfance. Je ne déteste pas la société, j’aime les gens, mais je ne veux simplement pas jouer le jeu.
