Nomadic farmers in the Arctic clash with the might of the Russian gas industry in this documentary about the Yamal Peninsula.

The Yamal Peninsula in the heart of the Arctic is the world's largest gas producing area, and the source of 85% of Russia’s natural gas. But it is also the home of the Nenets people, who have been migrating from the north to the south of the peninsula for more than 200 generations. Can the two co-exist, or will greed and industrialisation mean extinction for the last Siberian migration route?

A Yamal, les Nenets cheminent en transhumance du Nord au Sud de la péninsule depuis plus de 200 générations. Pourront-ils ils survivre à cette convoitise et à cette surindustrialisation ? Western polaire et environnemental, ce film documentaire nous plonge dans l’émergence de la route maritime du Nord-est et la disparition de l’ultime route de transhumance sibérienne.
