synopsis

Vietnam veteran Al Moon lives on a tribal reservation in Northern California. Escalating violence and environmental destruction revive his wartime fears, pushing him to embark on a cross-country journey to confront his past and the men of his battalion. On the way, chance encounters reveal a nation coming to terms with old wounds and question the possibility of healing.
Al Moon, vétéran du Vietnam, vit dans la réserve de sa tribu, dans le nord de la Californie. L'escalade de la violence et la destruction de l'environnement ravivent ses craintes liées à la guerre et le poussent à entreprendre un voyage à travers le pays pour affronter son passé et les hommes de son bataillon. En chemin, des rencontres fortuites lui révèlent une nation aux prises avec ses propres blessures et remettent en question la possibilité d'une guérison.
Vietnamveteraan Al Moon woont op het reservaat van zijn stam in Noord-Californië. Het toenemende geweld en de vernietiging van het milieu doen zijn oorlogsangsten herleven en zetten hem ertoe aan een reis door het land te maken om zijn verleden en de mannen van zijn bataljon onder ogen te zien. Onderweg onthullen toevallige ontmoetingen een natie die worstelt met haar eigen wonden en twijfelt aan de mogelijkheid van genezing.
