A sonic investigation into perceptions of armed conflict and how they relate to lived reality.

synopsis

Nothing's Going To Happen To Us... is an installation and a film, in which video and sound collide. It investigates how our perceptions of armed conflict relate to lived reality. A nurse tells her story of surviving a war-zone shelling, remembering the sounds she heard, and the emotions those sounds still elicit. At the same time, sound designers explain how they would recreate this as a scene, their voices modulated with the sound of bombs from contemporary conflicts and WWI. By confronting these two perspectives Nothing's Going To Happen To Us... explores the no man's land between an artificial presentation of danger, and an authentic, lived memory of it.
