A hybrid documentary-fiction film, set in Paris, and also in a replica of Paris in China. Central to the film is Yi-En, a young man trying to build a new life together with a few other refugees in the French capital. Paris, Paris is a film about trying to find one's place in an ever-changing world, and how this influences our fragile bodies and memories.
Paris, Paris opens with images of Paris: the Eiffel Tower and other famous monuments. Gradually it becomes clear, however, that it is not really Paris, but a replica that is situated in China. Furthermore, the local hospital is full of patients, young and old, who are suffering from some inexplicable amnesia. In Paris, France, refugees Yi-En, Karamoko, and Ferdous are trying to create a home in a new, unfamiliar environment. Suddenly, without any reason, their personal belongings start disappearing. They try to find out what is happening, but their search is brought to an abrupt end by the sudden disappearance of Yi-En.
