The ultimate portrait of one of the most important contemporary Flemish painters. Raveel is shown as an artist, but also as a human being. In the documentary it becomes apparent how his works interact with architecture.

synopsis

The ultimate portrait of one of the most important contemporary Flemish painters. Raveel is shown as an artist, but also as a human being. In the documentary it becomes apparent how his works interact with architecture. There is the 'Roger Raveelmuseum', a museum built by architect Stéphane Beel, especially conceived for Raveel's work. On the other hand there is the pilotage building in Ostend, where Raveel himself interacted with the architectural elements of a very functional building. Raveel will soon be 80 years old, and he's still very busy and creative. This film shows a remarkable vivid and intriguing person. It shows Raveel as only his closest friends knew him up until now. Original music for this film has been written by the famous Belgian composer Wim Mertens.
