A North Sea fisherman dies at sea under mysterious circumstances. People whisper that the captain is to blame. His teenage daughter Lena however suspects the ship did not go down by accident. Nobody believes her, not even her best friend. When Lena glimpses a huge shadow slithering beneath the sea surface, she is determined to prove that a huge, unknown sea creature is roaming the deep…
Het leven van Lena, een getalenteerde zeilster en skatester, wordt op zijn kop gezet wanneer haar vader samen met twee andere vissers sterft op zee. In de wandelgangen wordt gefluisterd dat haar vader het ongeluk heeft veroorzaakt. Lena is echter overtuigd dat dit het werk is van een mysterieus zeewezen. Ze gaat tot het uiterste om het bestaan van het beest en de onschuld van haar vader te bewijzen.
