Max, an aspiring young writer living in London, begins a double life as a sex-worker in order to research his debut novel.

Max seems well on his way to conventional success on London’s cultural scene, yet by night he is finding a different kind of exhilaration as Sebastian, meeting men through an escort site and being paid for sex. It’s meant to be research for a novel, but Max starts to find himself more at home as Sebastian than expected. With his former life fading into the background, and the novel taking an unexpected turn with the arrival of an older client, Nicholas, Max has to work out whether Sebastian is just a literary mask, a way of producing authentic prose, or if he has a deeper meaning.
