synopsis

Seventeen years ago, gangster Franck Pistone went on the run after a diamond heist. Now he is back, and seeking a reconciliation with his son Camille. But the past can only be laid to rest once the proceeds of the robbery have been found. And Camille is not the only child Franck left behind. There’s also wild-child Sarah, and César, from the Matongé neighbourhood, who never met his father and may be the key to the hidden loot.
Fils de, une épopée urbaine. C'est le récit d'un père gangster, Franck Pistone, parti en cavale au Maroc après un casse il y a 17 ans, qui revient pour se réconcilier avec son fils. C'est l'histoire de Camille qui doit renouer avec ce père qui l'a abandonné car il a roulé la mafia hollandaise sans avoir les épaules pour les affronter. Pour s'en sortir et offrir une vie meilleure à son fils Hippolyte, Camille va devoir retrouver les diamants du casse de son père, cachés quelque part à Bruxelles depuis 17 ans. Mais aussi composer avec Sarah, jolie sauvageonne et fille cachée du braqueur. Et puis il y a César, petit dernier de Franck, élevé à Matongé, qui pourrait bien s’avérer être la clé.
Fils de is een Belgisch mythologisch stadsepos van 8 x 45'. Het verhaal is gebaseerd op waargebeurde feiten en vangt aan in Brussel. Het vertelt over een criminele vader, Franck Pistone, die sinds 'de overval van de eeuw' al 17 jaar ondergedoken leeft. Nu hij zijn einde voelt naderen duikt hij terug op in Brussel om zich met zijn kinderen te verzoenen. Francks terugkeer betekent het begin van een gevaarlijke schattenjacht naar een berg diamanten, te midden van de meest vijandige stadsjungle ter wereld: Brussel. De orale cultuur, poëzie, rap en hiphop in het Brussel van vandaag geven dit grootse verhaal gestalte en schetsen een familie-epos van de straat, hedendaags en mythisch tegelijk.
