Lawyer-turned-detective Sophie Cross is on a crusade to put as many criminals behind bars as possible, and to find her missing son.

One day, Arthur, the five-year-old son of top lawyer Sophie and police commissioner Thomas, disappears without a trace. This tragedy causes Sophie to question her life. She ends her career as a criminal lawyer in order to become a police detective. Three years later, she has a clear goal in mind: to imprison as many criminals as possible, while continuing the search for her missing son.
Op een dag wordt het gezin van advocate Sofie (35) en politiecommissaris Thomas (38) getroffen door het noodlot. Hun vijfjarig zoontje Arthur verdwijnt spoorloos. Deze tragedie doet vooral Sofie het leven in vraag stellen. Ze beëindigt haar carrière als strafpleiter en start een opleiding als politieagente. Drie jaar later heeft ze een duidelijk doel voor ogen: zoveel mogelijk misdadigers opsluiten en ondertussen hartstochtelijk blijven zoeken naar haar verdwenen zoontje.
