Strokes of Madness outlines an image of four people who try to survive every day with a psychotic sensitivity - a life which seems almost impossible to imagine. Now, with sincere openness, they allow us insight into their everyday lives and personal suffering. It is a film about the boundary between creativity and psychological vulnerability. Each person creates their own piece of art with the help of a renowned Belgian artist. The pace, imagery and narrative technique moves to the rhythm of a psychosis. The unconventional theme and the engagement of the artists makes this film unique. Sometimes it's pure madness, but sometimes it comes with a stroke of genius.
Strokes of Madness schetst een beeld van vier mensen die elke dag proberen door te komen met een psychische aandoening - een leven dat haast onmogelijk lijkt. Met een oprechte openheid geven ze de kijker een blik in hun alledaags leven en persoonlijk lijden. Het is een film over de grens tussen creativiteit en mentale kwetsbaarheid. Met de hulp van bekende Belgische kunstenaars creëert elk van hen een eigen kunstwerk. Het tempo, de beeldtaal en de verteltechniek bewegen op het ritme van een psychose. Het onconventionele thema en het engagement van de kunstenaars maken deze film uniek. Soms is het pure waanzin, maar soms komt het met een geniale toets.
