synopsis

After a lifetime of lost opportunities, Horst comes eye to eye with the one responsible: his brother Franz. Time to settle some scores, were it not for Alzheimer’s getting in the way. Flashes of their memories reveal their troubled relation. Set in a real operational care home, entwining the brothers’ memories with those of the actual residents, this film grants a unique look into the way our memory shapes every one of us. Whether we remember what happened on Sunday Ninth, or whether we forgot.
Na een leven van gemiste kansen ontmoeten de broers Horst en Franz elkaar opnieuw. Horst lijdt aan een gebrek aan levensvreugde en aan Alzheimer. Franz heeft geld nodig en hoopt op zijn broers erfenis. Ook Andrea, de grote liefde van Horst, verschijnt. Vastbesloten haar verloren tijd in te halen. Oude passies, oude wonden en een rivaliteit tussen twee broers die verder teruggaat dan ze zich realiseren.
