synopsis

This documentary follows the carnie community on their annual tour through Belgium, in which they invite us to see the other side of their bizarre roadshow. While fairgrounds nowadays are increasingly being excluded from city centres, we look inside the daily lives of those who live and breathe the carnie heritage.
En suivant des membres de la communauté foraine dans leur grande tournée annuelle à Liège, Alost, Anvers et Bruxelles, « Les forains » nous invite à passer de l'autre côté du décor de cette grande kermesse itinérante. A l'heure où la foire est toujours un peu plus exclue des centres villes, nous partageons le quotidien de ceux qui en vivent et en portent l'héritage.
Foorkramers volgt een aantal figuren uit de kermisgemeenschap tijdens hun jaarlijkse grote tournee door Vlaanderen, Wallonië en Brussel en nodigt ons uit voor een bezoek aan de achterkant van het decor van die grote reizende kermis. Terwijl de kermissen steeds meer uit de stadscentra wordt verdreven, delen we het dagelijks leven van de mensen die van de foor leven en haar erfgoed in stand houden.
