The Colour of Our Time traces the friendship, pain, and memory of three Iraqi artists shaped by war, forced migration, and arrival in Europe. Told in four parts, one for each protagonist plus a final chapter dedicated to the archive, it reveals the multi-layered process of its making. Capturing the quiet poetry of their journey across a period of 20 years, it is a testament to the power of art in the face of rupture and exile.
The Colour of Our Time volgt de vriendschap, het leed en de herinneringen van drie Iraakse kunstenaars die gevormd zijn door oorlog, gedwongen migratie en hun aankomst in Europa. Het verhaal wordt verteld in vier delen – elk rond een protagonist, met een afsluitend hoofdstuk gewijd aan het archief – en onthult het meerlagige maakproces van de film. Gedragen door de regisseurs twintig jaar aan toewijding en afgestemd op de stille poëzie van hun reis, is het een bewijs van de kracht van kunst tegenover breuk en ballingschap.
