A story about a friendship between two boys, Pietro and Bruno, who belong to different worlds - the city and the mountains. Although they grow apart, their lives remain somehow connected.

synopsis

The Eight Mountains tells the story of Pietro and Bruno, a city boy and a mountain boy, who become friends at the age of 11, with a forgotten part of the Alps as their kingdom. As the years pass, they lose each other and find each other again. While Bruno remains faithful to his mountain, Pietro travels the world. A journey in solitude and love, past origin and destination, across friendship, life and death.
De acht bergen is een verhaal over vriendschap. Over kinderen die mannen worden en de voetafdrukken van hun vaders proberen uit te wissen, maar die, door de wendingen die ze nemen, altijd naar huis terugkeren. Pietro en Bruno, een jongen uit de stad en een uit de bergen, sluiten vriendschap als ze elf zijn, met een vergeten stukje Alpen als Koninkrijk. Hun levens strekken zich uit, ze verliezen mekaar en vinden elkaar terug. Terwijl Bruno trouw blijft aan zijn berg, trekt Pietro de wereld rond. Een tocht in eenzaamheid en liefde, langs afkomst en bestemming, over vriendschap, leven en dood heen.
