When her 80-year-old husband George dies, Helena asks her granddaughter to delve into the mystery surrounding George's friend Alfred's early demise. Alfred died in a WWII prison camp where both friends were imprisoned. The search for the truth unleashes repressed emotions in three generations of the De Keyser family, gin distillers in Hasselt.
Lorsque son mari de 80 ans meurt, Helena demande à sa petite-fille de se plonger dans le mystère entourant la mort précoce d’Alfred, l’ami de George. Alfred est mort pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale dans un camp de prisonniers où les deux amis étaient emprisonnés. La recherche de la vérité soulève une multitude d’émotions enfuies dans trois générations de la famille De Keyser, qui possède une distillerie de gin à Hasselt.
