synopsis

In the slums of an Asian metropolis, 11-year-old Ginto fights for attention, respect and freedom. He rejects his sister’s motherly care and prefers being a gangster to someone eating out of garbage cans. He struggles with his burgeoning sexuality, falls in love with a boy from the gang, and meets sex-tourist Michael, who is obsessed by his own dark desires.
In de sloppenwijken van een Aziatische metropool vecht de 11-jarige Ginto voor aandacht, aanzien en vrijheid. Hij wijst de moederlijke zorg van zijn zusje af en wil liever een gangster zijn dan een afval-eter. Hij worstelt met zijn opbloeiende seksualiteit, wordt verliefd op een jongen uit zijn bende en ontmoet de sekstoerist Michael, die verscheurd wordt door zijn eigen duistere verlangens.
