A subversion of the Robinson Crusoe myth that wrecks our Eurocentric island

The Englishman Robinson Crusoe (Oriana Ikomo) shipwrecks on an inhabited island. With his insatiable explorative spirit, he harvests the trees, mines the mountains, and tames the natives, a nation of goats. However, his newly built civilization is lonely. Until one day, when Robinson rescues a cannibal (Bernice Leming) from certain death and baptizes him ’Friday.’ Eternally grateful, Friday assists Robinson in building his empire and affection develops between them. Years go by until their peace is disturbed.
Nadat zijn schip overvallen wordt door een storm strandt de Engelsman Robinson Crusoe (Oriana Ikomo) op een eiland. Hij raakt bevriend met de enige andere overlevende, een rat, Mercury en bouwt er zijn nederzetting. Nadat Mercury het leven laat, blijft Robinson in eenzaamheid achter. Hij vangt echter een kannibaal (Bernice Leming) die hij Vrijdag doopt. Hun relatie wordt alsmaar ingewikkelder tot een groep piraten het eiland bezoekt.
