Long ago in the savannah, a beautiful friendship develops between a lion and a monkey. But this friendship is put to the test when the monkey discovers fire.

synopsis

In the savannah, long, long ago, a lion rescues what he thinks is a small monkey. In return, the monkey pulls a large splinter out of the lion's paw. A friendship is born, which grows in perfect harmony, until the day the monkey discovers fire. Unleashed, the fire ravages the plain and almost consumes the two friends. Rather than learn his lesson, the monkey wants to relight the fire, whatever the cost. So the lion does what must be done, to save the savannah from another catastrophe: the dangerous little monkey must be rendered harmless, even though he is the lion's only friend.
Dans la savane, il y a très, très longtemps, un lion sauve ce qu’il prend pour un petit singe. En retour, le gamin soigne sa patte arrière, blessée par une énorme écharde. Une amitié est née et s’épanouit en parfaite harmonie. Mais l’équilibre est gâché quand le singe découvre le feu, qui, incontrôlable, ravage la plaine et manque de peu de les dévorer eux même. La leçon aurait pu être bonne mais le singe s’obstine à rallumer un feu. Le lion fait alors ce qui doit être fait: mettre le dangereux singe (qui est pourtant son seul ami) hors d’état de nuire. La savane n’a pas besoin d’une autre catastrophe.
Lang, lang geleden in de savanne redt een leeuw wat volgens hem een kleine aap is. Als wederdienst verzorgt de kleine dreumes zijn achterpoot, waar een grote houtsplinter in zat. Er ontstaat een vriendschap, die op een harmonieuze manier tot bloei komt. Maar het evenwicht wordt verstoord wanneer de aap het vuur ontdekt, dat losgeslagen de hele savanne verwoest en hen bijna te grazen neemt. Het had een goede les kunnen zijn, maar de aap wil kost wat kost het vuur opnieuw aansteken. Daarop doet de leeuw wat moet gedaan worden: de gevaarlijke aap, die nochtans zijn enige vriend is, uitschakelen. De savanne kan een nieuwe catastrofe missen als kiespijn.
