synopsis

In an unnatural world, Marianne gives birth to an unusual baby: despite the child being born dead, life survives in the afterbirth. She decides to raise her placenta as a normal human being; as a young man named Luke. Behind his monstrous façade is a person of intelligence and sensitivity who must struggle for his place in a world full of drunks, junkies and freaks.
Une femme donne naissance à un mort-né, mais transfère son amour maternel sur le placenta. Luke, la progéniture, est élevé comme un enfant normal. Derrière son apparence monstrueuse se cache une personne intelligente et sensible. Dans un univers détraqué rempli d’ivrognes, de junkies, de prostituées et de bodybuilders, Luke est traité comme un phénomène de foire. Face à tant d'hostilité, il doit faire un choix : soit il reste fidèle à ses idéaux chrétiens, soit il se mue en soldat sans pitié et entreprend une croisade sanguinaire contre une société dépravée.
Een vrouw bevalt van een doodgeboren baby, maar het leven vindt zijn weg via de moederkoek. Luke, de placenta, wordt opgevoed als een normaal 'kind'. Achter zijn monsterlijke uiterlijk schuilt een intelligent en gevoelig persoon. Maar in een krankzinnige wereld vol dronkaards, junkies, hoeren en bodybuilders wordt Luke behandeld als een outcast en een freak. Geconfronteerd met zoveel vijandigheid, staat Luke voor een verscheurende keuze. Of hij blijft in zijn mooie Christelijke idealen geloven of hij verandert in een genadeloze soldaat die zijn moeder altijd al van hem wilde maken.
