synopsis

May 1940. As Europe trembles on the brink of war, two lives cross within Brussels’ legendary Flagey building, the beating heart of national radio. Elza, a young actress making her debut in radio drama, meets Berre, a gifted soundman with a magical ear. She is enchanted by storytelling; he finds solace in sound. Their encounter sparks a love that dares to exist beyond the rising shadow of their time. The Soundman is a moving love story about passion, imagination and the pursuit of humanity amid the approaching storm.
Mai 1940. Alors que le monde vacille au bord de la guerre, les destins d’Elza, jeune actrice découvrant la magie du son, et de Berre, ingénieur du son à l’oreille presque enchantée, se croisent dans le bâtiment emblématique de Flagey, à Bruxelles — cœur battant de la radio nationale. Elle cherche la lumière dans les histoires, lui l’abri dans les sons. Leur rencontre fait naître un amour qui défie la peur.
