During a solar eclipse, soap-opera actress Joke is confronted by the elliptical structure of her own memory.

Over 12 six-minute episodes, The Swirling Tangle follows Joke, a soap-opera actress played by soap actress Joke Devynck, as she moves through her everyday existence. She gives classes to other actors and goes to the bakery, visits the hairdresser and the café. An old, crackling voiceover provides commentary on Joke’s actions and encounters, and intervenes, just like a Greek chorus.
