Ronny Baudewyn and Paul Quirynen are two lawyers in the Belgian trial of the century. One of them is defending a victim's father whereas the other defends the criminal Marc Dutroux. For about four months both lawyers have been followed in the case of their life. But how difficult is it for them to stay a human being in a case which is so 'not human'.

synopsis

Ronny Baudewyn and Paul Quirynen are two lawyers in the Belgian trial of the century. One of them is defending a victim's father whereas the other defends the criminal Marc Dutroux. For about four months both lawyers have been followed in the case of their life. But how difficult is it for them to stay a human being in a case which is so 'not human': the horror of a paedophile trial, the trial of a country, a century. Being a lawyer or a person, or both?
Ronny Baudewyn et Paul Quirynen sont deux avocats dans le procès belge du siècle. L’un d’eux défend le père de la victime tandis que l’autre défend le criminel Marc Dutroux. Pendant à peu près quatre mois, les deux avocats ont été suivis dans l’affaire de leur vie. Mais comment est-ce possible pour eux de rester des êtres humains dans une affaire si inhumaine : l’horreur d’un procès de pédophilie, le procès d’un pays, d’un siècle ? Etre un avocat, une personne, ou les deux ?
