synopsis

This is the true story of Frans Van Reeth, a small-time crook who spent most of his life in jail. In an hour and a half, we learn all about the love of his life, his inmates, his adventures in and out of prison, and what becomes of him in the end.
Frans van Reeth was gedurende meer dan vijftien jaar een van de meest beruchte, maar ook meest kleurrijke figuren uit de Belgische misdaad wereld. Hij was nooit gewapend. Zijn inbraken en overvallen waren spectaculair en gedurft maar meestal ook onvoldoende voorbereid, zodat Frans van Reeth de helft van zijn leven sleet in strafinstellingen. Tot vijf keer toe slaagde hij erin om uit de gevangenis te ontsnappen. Zijn hele leven was een kat-en-muisspel met politie en de rijkswacht. Frans van Reeth haalde dan ook geregeld de voorpagina's van de kranten en werd een controversiële volksheld.
