synopsis

This Magnificent Cake! is an anthology film set in colonial Africa in the late 19th-century, telling the stories of five different characters: a troubled king; a middle-aged Pygmy working in a luxury hotel; a failed businessman on an expedition; a lost porter; and a young army deserter.
Ce magnifique gâteau ! est un moyen métrage animé. Ce film est une anthologie sur la colonisation africaine à la fin du 19e siècle. Il est découpé en cinq récits qui mettent en scène un roi perturbé, un pygmée travaillant dans un hôtel de luxe, un homme d’affaires ruiné, un porteur égaré et un jeune déserteur.
Ce magnifique gâteau ! is een middellange geanimeerde anthologie die zich afspeelt in het koloniale Afrika in de late 19de eeuw, en die het verhaal vertelt van vijf personages: een getroebleerde koning, een pygmee van middelbare leeftijd die in een luxehotel werkt, een mislukte zakenman op expeditie, een verloren gelopen portier en een jonge deserteur.
