synopsis

An immigrant ceases to be a traveller when they are laid to rest in their host land. In Brussels, on a former military airport that is now a multi-faith cemetery, a new narrative unfolds: the story of our ancestors. Many immigrants of Arab and African descent have anchored themselves, their children and families in Belgium, and are now buried here. As they visit their missing ones, their rituals and imaginations strive to maintain a connection. How do we communicate with our dead? How do they safeguard us? The film delves into these personal encounters, exploring them from diverse intimate perspectives.
