On Sunday 23 August 1914, starting at 5.00 am, the third German army set fire to the city of Dinant. 674 inhabitants are slaughtered. 1,000 houses burned. The city looks like a medieval description of Hell.
Op zondag 23 augustus 1914, vanaf vijf uur 's ochtends, steekt het derde Duitse leger de stad Dinant in brand. 674 inwoners worden afgeslacht, 1000 huizen verbrand. De stad lijkt op een middeleeuwse beschrijving van de hel.
