This documentary is a tribute to the musical and cultural diversity of South Africa and shows how music made a difference in the years of Apartheid and how it has evolved since its abolition.

synopsis

To celebrate the 10 years anniversary of the abolotion of Apartheid in South Africa, the Internationals decided to tour the townships of Johannesburg and Cape Town, poor suburbs usualy deprived from cultural activities. During this tour Junior Mthombeni, son of an ANC refugee and a Belgian mother, interviewed many icons of the Southafrican music scene. This documentary is a tribute to the musical and cultural diversity of South Africa and shows how music made a difference in the years of Apartheid and how it has evolved since its abolition.
Pour célébrer le dixième anniversaire de l’abolition de l’Apartheid en Afrique du Sud, des internationaux décidèrent de faire le tour des villes de Johannesburg et Cape Town, de pauvres banlieues généralement privées d’activités culturelles. Pendant ce voyage, Junior Mthombeni, fils d’un réfugier de l’ANC et d’une mère belge, interrogea de nombreuses icônes de la scène musicale sud-africaine. Ce documentaire est un hommage à la diversité musicale et artistique en Afrique du Sud et montre comment la musique a marqué la différence pendant les années d’Apartheid et comment elle a évolué depuis son abolition.
