Fang Xu Shi lives with many other immigrants around the film sets of Hengdian, relying on the productions to hire him temporarily as an extra. He reflects on his life and, more particularly, on his past and his relationship with his father in this universal story of human philosophy and survival.
Fang Xu Shi vit avec beaucoup d’autres immigrants à proximité des plateaux de Hengdian, comptant sur les productions en cours pour l’engager comme extra temporaire. Il réfléchit à sa vie et, plus particulièrement, à son passé et à sa relation avec son père dans cette histoire universelle de la philosophie humaine et la survie.
