EN - A film about WW1 and the South African men who laboured or fought in Europe, based on the diary of the filmmaker's great uncle who spent two years at the front before he was killed. Black South African men volunteered to fight but were only allowed to contribute as labourers. Through animation, the film attempts to find points of convergence between the experiences of different South Africans.
