The lives of 10 strangers intertwine when they join a weight-loss camp and are faced not only with the battle against their bodies but also their minds.

synopsis

This tragicomic fiction series focuses on 10 obese men and women, who decide to participate in the 'Albatros' slimming camp in the Ardennes. Upon arrival it’s clear that they carry not only physical, but also emotional excess weight. The participants are physically challenged by a not so subtle coach while the group therapist tries to get them out of their comfort zone. The protective layers with which they kept the outside world and their past at a distance are peeled off one by one.
De tragikomische fictiereeks volgt tien zwaarlijvigen die hun leven willen beteren en daarom deelnemen aan afslankingskamp 'Albatros' in de Ardennen. Bij aankomst blijkt echter dat ze niet alleen fysiek, maar ook emotioneel overtollige kilo's met zich meesleuren. De deelnemers worden lichamelijk uitgedaagd door een weinig subtiele coach. Maar ook de groepstherapeute kijkt in hun ziel en probeert hen uit hun comfortzone te halen. De beschermende lagen waarmee ze de buitenwereld en hun verleden op afstand hielden, worden zo één voor één weggehaald. Tot de ooit obese bezieler van het kamp, naar wie ze opkijken, zelf niet te vertrouwen lijkt en een duister geheim met zich blijkt mee te dragen.
