synopsis

Brahim is a young man, and secretly gay. At his mother’s birthday party, tensions around his unaccepted sexuality become unbearable. Brahim flees the family home into the night, where a terrible encounter awaits. For Animals, director Nabil Ben Yadir draws on true events to tell a raw and extremely touching story.
Brahim est un jeune homme, et secrètement gay. Lors de la fête d'anniversaire de sa mère, les tensions autour de sa sexualité non acceptée deviennent insupportables. Brahim quitte la maison familiale dans la nuit, où une terrible rencontre l'attend... Pour Animals, le réalisateur Nabil Ben Yadir s'est inspiré de faits réels pour présenter une histoire brute et captivante.
Brahim is een jonge kerel die zijn homoseksualiteit verbergt voor zijn familie. Op het verjaardagsfeest van zijn moeder lopen de spanningen op. Brahim vlucht weg van zijn ouderlijke huis, de nacht in, waar hem een vreselijke ontmoeting wacht... Voor Animals baseert regisseur Nabil Ben Yadir zich op waargebeurde feiten om een rauw en uitermate aangrijpend verhaal te brengen.
