Jan, the most popular cop in Flanders, resigns from the Antwerp drug squad to stand as a candidate for a populist nationalist party that is on the verge of a breakthrough. But his history will catch up with him...

synopsis

Jan Verbeeck, the uncompromising commissioner of the Antwerp drug squad is hugely popular with the people and the media. The country is thrown into commotion when he announces that he is leaving the police force just before the elections to join the extreme right party, VPV. On his last day as a policeman, he leads an investigation that takes him to Charleroi where a raid on a drug lab sets in motion a series of unforeseeable and fatal events.
Angle mort relate l’histoire de Jan Verbeeck, un commissaire intransigeant de la brigade des stups à Anvers. Réputé comme ‘Mr Tolérance Zéro’, il est extrêmement populaire auprès de la population et des médias. Le pays est en émoi quand, juste avant les élections, il annonce sa démission pour rejoindre le parti d’extrême droite VPV. Lors de son dernier jour dans la police, une enquête le mène à Charleroi où une descente dans un labo clandestin déclenche une série d’événements imprévisibles et incontrôlables.

Het land staat dan ook in rep en roer wanneer hij aankondigt dat hij de politie verlaat om zich, net vóór de verkiezingen, aan te sluiten bij de extreemrechtse partij VPV. Op zijn laatste dag als politieman leidt een onderzoek hem naar Charleroi waar een inval in een drugslabo een reeks onvoorzienbare en fatale gebeurtenissen in gang zet.
