synopsis

Borderline is a collection of six documentary films about different types of borders that divide the European continent: some freshly closed and some nearly forgotten in time; others wired and militarised or just symbolically marked with pillars and ropes. A border connects and separates at the same time, and the cultural, sociological, historical contrasts and similarities on each side are raw material for a relevant and fascinating series which follows in the footsteps of people who are confronted with borders on a daily basis.
