A documentary set in Laos about the illegal opium farming trade.

synopsis

Laosan, a young family man, spends all his time smoking opium. For his community, lost in the heart of the Laotian jungle, opium farming is the only way to survive. But opium is also the poison that puts men to sleep and kills their desires.
Jeune père de famille, Laosan passe ses journées à fumer l’opium. Pour sa communauté, isolée au plus profond de la jungle laotienne, la culture de l’opium est le seul moyen de survie. Mais c’est aussi le poison qui endort les hommes et tue leurs désirs.
Laosan, een jonge familieman, spendeert al zijn tijd aan het roken van opium. Voor zijn gemeenschap in het hart van de Laotiaanse jungle is opiumteelt de enige manier om te overleven. Maar opium is ook het gif dat mannen doet inslapen en hun verlangens doodt.
