Coup de Grace is a film woven around a performance by Alain Platel and Fabrizio Cassol named Coup Fatal, which involves 12 musicians from Kinshasa who are inspired by baroque composers and their diverse repertoires. This film focuses on the lives of the musicians during their tour of Europe and Kinshasa. By sharing their daily experiences online with their loved ones, the contact with their homeland and their roots is sustained, and a bridge created between the culture of the space they occupy and the culture they left at home.
Coup de grâce is een film die opgebouwd is rond de voorstelling Coup Fatal van Alain Platel en Fabrizio Cassol, waarin 12 muzikanten uit Kinshasa spelen die geïnspireerd zijn door barokcomponisten en hun diverse repertoire. De film focust op de levens van de muzikanten tijdens hun tournee door Europa en in Kinshasa. Hun internetgebruik slaat een brug tussen de cultuur van de ruimte waarin ze zich bevinden en de cultuur die ze thuis hebben achtergelaten. Door hun dagelijkse ervaringen online te delen met hun dierbaren, voeden ze het contact met hun thuisland en hun roots.
