When she's cured, she can't keep her promise to God because she fell in love and got married. After a series of fatal events, she decides to fulfill her promise and enters a convent. But life in the convent doesn't bring her inner peace. And after an argument with mother superior, she decides to leave for India, where her sister lives. Lorsque Sabine Arnauld apprend qu’elle va passer le restant de sa vie en chaise roulante, elle demande à Dieu de la laisser marcher encore. En échange, elle entrera dans un couvent l’année suivante. Lorsqu’elle est guérie, elle ne peut tenir sa promesse devant Dieu car elle tombe amoureuse et se marie. Après une série d’événements fatidiques, elle décide de tenir sa promesse et entre dans un couvent. Mais la vie au couvent ne lui apporte pas la paix intérieure et, après une dispute avec la mère supérieure, elle décide de partir pour l’Inde, où vit sa sœur. Elle y découvre la richesse de la sagesse orientale.
