Osama and Dara are two Syrians who meet in the Kapellen asylum centre. Osama writes a play about his experiences as a political refugee and dreams of having it performed in a real theatre. Their integration process has many difficulties but they remain smiling. We discover the story behind the smile - a human quest for acceptance in a society that is afraid of them.
Osama en Dara zijn twee Syriërs die elkaar ontmoeten in het asielcentrum van Kapellen. Osama schrijft een theaterstuk over zijn ervaringen als politiek vluchteling en droomt ervan het te kunnen spelen in een echt theater. Desondanks hun integratieprocess vele moeilijkheden kent, blijven Osama en Dara glimlachen. We ontdekken het verhaal achter de glimlach, een humane queeste om geaccepteerd te worden in een samenleving die bang van hen is.
