Femmes d’Agadez is situated in the political context of northern Niger, against the backdrop of European interference in regional border disputes. The film focuses on the story of a number of activist women in Agadez who have established feminist collectives in the city. The stories of these inspiring women are interwoven with conversations between several Belgian and Nigerien filmmakers about how to create a space where the democratic imagination can exist.
