synopsis

On the remote border region between the Netherlands and Flanders, a mysterious African girl is found wandering around on the Flemish side. As the charming but nonchalant Belgian court psychiatrist Bert Dewulf (50) is brought in to find out what happened to the deeply traumatised girl, Tara Dessel, a Dutch police inspector of mixed descent, investigates a bloody shootout on a yacht. It soon turns out that there is a connection between the two cases. The girl is being hunted by a merciless gang of human traffickers from whom she has escaped. When Tara and Bert start to collaborate on the case, they discover that the borderlanders have had their own way of handling foreigners for centuries.
Une jeune Africaine est trouvée errante du côté flamand de la région frontalière entre les Pays-Bas et la Flandre, Alors que le psychiatre-légiste Bert Dewulf (50), un homme charmant mais nonchalant, se penche sur le cas de la jeune fille traumatisée, Tara Dessel (35), une inspectrice de police néerlandaise métisse, enquête sur une fusillade mortelle à bord d'un yacht de plaisance. Il apparaît vite que les deux affaires sont liées. La jeune fille est pourchassée par une bande impitoyable de trafiquants d'êtres humains à laquelle elle vient d'échapper. Quand Tara et Bert prennent ensemble l'affaire à bras-le-corps, ils découvrent que les frontaliers ont depuis des siècles une manière bien à eux de s'occuper des étrangers...
In de afgelegen grensstreek tussen Nederland en Vlaanderen wordt aan Vlaamse zijde een mysterieus dolend Afrikaans meisje gevonden. Terwijl de charmante, maar nonchalante Belgische gerechtspsychiater Bert Dewulf (50) zich het lot aantrekt van het zwaar getraumatiseerde meisje, onderzoekt Tara Dessel (35), een Nederlandse politie-inspecteur van gemengde afkomst, een bloederige schietpartij op een plezierjacht. Al snel blijkt er een verband tussen beide zaken. Het meisje wordt opgejaagd door een meedogenloze bende mensenhandelaars aan wie ze was ontsnapt. Wanneer Tara en Bert zich samen in de zaak vastbijten, ontdekken ze dat Grenslanders al eeuwenlang op hun eigen manier omgaan met vreemdelingen…
