Driving home from the hospital after her daughter’s failed attempt to end her life, a worried mother refuses to stop before she knows why, and whether, her daughter will try again.

synopsis

Linda picks up her 19-year-old daughter Emma from hospital after receiving the dramatic news that she attempted suicide. Unable to give her mother the answers she desperately needs, Linda refuses to stop driving before she knows why, and whether her daughter will try again. Emma reaches out to her father, who lives on the other side of the country. In a final attempt to connect with her daughter, Linda proposes to drive Emma to her ex-husband. They take off on a 2,000-mile journey in which Emma slowly starts to talk about her motives and Linda gradually realises that these motives reflect on her own life choices.
