synopsis

Latif Al Ani photographed Iraq for 30 years, before a series of wars wreaked havoc on the landscape and its inhabitants. Today, at the age of 86, he travels through his devastated country in search of the people and places he filmed, sharing his pictures with Iraqis who today cannot imagine that the world in the photographs was real.
Latif Al Ani was 30 jaar lang fotograaf in Irak, tot de oorlogen kwamen. Vandaag is hij 86 en reist door zijn verwoeste land op zoek naar mensen en plaatsen die hij ooit fotografeerde. Hij deelt zijn foto's met Irakezen die zich vandaag niet kunnen voorstellen dat de wereld op de foto's ooit werkelijkheid was.
