The story of Yulin is a universal story focusing on the inequality and mistreatment of women through the centuries and all over the world.

synopsis

En

Yulin, a Chinese farmer's wife, leads a tough life - poor, childless and constantly abused by her husband. Her only escape is making mud dolls and fantasising about a better life. In a violent clash, she kills her husband and buries him outside the house. On the following night, one of her dolls comes alive and becomes the link between her past and her future.
