Max vend des trophées, mais est beaucoup plus intéressé par la danse que par la vente. Il est sous la domination de son père, et sa fille est beaucoup plus intéressée par Kurt que par l’apprentissage de la flûte. Pour couronner le tout, les championnats de tango argentin approchent à grands pas et Max n’a toujours pas trouvé de partenaire. Il rencontre la danseuse Annie Brocca, et un éventail de nouvelles perspectives s’offre à lui.
