synopsis

When his father passes away, Ben Schotz returns to his hometown, Moresnet. Together with his childhood friends, including determined journalist Zoë Kuypers, he decides to dig up a time capsule they buried 24 years earlier. Inside, they find the diary of Ben’s mentally ill brother, Daan. On the last page of the diary is a list of names, together with dates prophesying when they will die. All the dates fall in the coming fortnight. How did this list end up in a 24-year-old diary? And why these names in particular? In a race against time, Ben and Zoë try to avoid their apparently irreversible destiny.
Wanneer zijn vader overlijdt, keert Ben Schotz terug naar zijn geboortedorp Moresnet. Samen met zijn jeugdvrienden, onder wie de vastberaden journaliste Zoë Kuypers, besluit hij een tijdcapsule op te graven die ze 24 jaar eerder begroeven. In de capsule vinden ze het dagboek van Bens psychisch zieke broer Daan. Op de laatste pagina staat een lijst met namen, vergezeld van data die voorspellen wanneer die mensen zullen sterven. Alle data vallen binnen de komende twee weken. Hoe is deze lijst in een dagboek van 24 jaar oud terechtgekomen? En waarom precies deze namen? In een race tegen de tijd proberen Ben en Zoë hun ogenschijnlijk onomkeerbare lot te ontlopen.
