synopsis

Hélène, a struggling young actress, is trying to learn the text of the 'Lady From the Sea' by heart. At the same time she is emptying her grandmother's apartment. The apartment, situated near the beach, becomes a place to escape in thoughts and dreams.
Hélène, une jeune et ambitieuse actrice retrouve sa grand mère Ida pour quelques jours en bord de mer, l'occasion pour les deux femmes de réapprendre à se connaître. Hélène ignore ce que l'avenir lui réserve tandis que Ida doit dire adieu à son passé. La mer leur ouvre l'esprit et leur apporte la sérénité qu'elles recherchent.
Hélène, een jonge beginnende actrice, repeteert de tekst voor een voorstelling. Op hetzelfde moment haalt ze het appartement leeg van haar grootmoeder, die aan zee woont. Het appartement aan zee wordt een plek tussen toekomst en verleden. De zee opent dromen en oude verlangens en brengt beide vrouwen dichter naar elkaar.
