synopsis

For six years, Tristan Devriendt has pragmatically split his medical education between theory at the bar and practical anatomy between the sheets. But just when he's at the top of his game and things move to the next level, lightning strikes: Tristan is diagnosed with cancer... It's a huge blow, from one moment to the other he goes from being a doctor to being a patient. And to make matters worse, he literally crashes into Hanne right after he receives the bad news. At first, she gives him a hard time, but Tristan falls head over heels in love. It's the start of a bumpy, unlikely, unique love story that will give Tristan the fuel to fight the cancer. But is the relationship between Tristan and Hanne strong enough to endure such an ordeal? And what impact does the disease have on Tristan's life, on his family and on his friends?
Welkom op de afdeling neurochirurgie. Tristan Devriendt heeft de voorbije zes jaar zijn studies geneeskunde pragmatisch opgesplitst in theorie aan de toog en praktijk anatomie onder de lakens. Maar nu is de speeltijd gedaan. Samen met zijn medestudenten klopt hij lange dagen tijdens zijn stage op de dienst neurochirurgie. Tristan heeft maar één doel: één van de slechts twee beschikbare plaatsen als assistent neurochirurgie veroveren. Tot er bij hem kanker wordt ontdekt… Een keiharde klap: opeens is hij niet langer een arts, maar een patiënt. Overal waar hij komt, slaat de bom in. Iedereen reageert anders. Ambitieuze dromen worden abrupt onderbroken en maken plaats voor een strijd op leven en dood. Tristan, zijn familie en vrienden komen in een verwarrende clash van emoties terecht met humor en liefde als een onverwacht maar helend neveneffect.
