As they navigate the corridors of religious power, their investigation reveals complex questions about faith, gender and the evolution of spiritual leadership in the 21st century.
Ce film suit un groupe de femmes libres, courageuses et inspirées qui se sentent appelées à devenir prêtres catholiques. Malgré leur foi et leur dévouement inébranlables, elles se heurtent à un obstacle infranchissable : le refus de l'Église de reconnaître leur vocation. Déterminées à comprendre pourquoi, ces femmes se lancent dans une enquête audacieuse au cœur du Vatican, l'un des derniers bastions de la misogynie institutionnalisée, remettant en cause des siècles de tradition pour découvrir les raisons de cette interdiction persistante et injuste.
Vrouwelijke priesters - de verboden roeping, volgt een groep moedige en geïnspireerde vrouwen die zich geroepen voelen om katholieke priester te worden. Ondanks hun onwankelbare geloof en toewijding stuiten ze op een onoverkomelijk obstakel: de weigering van de kerk om hun roeping te erkennen. Vastbesloten om uit te zoeken waarom, beginnen deze vrouwen aan een gedurfd onderzoek in het hart van het Vaticaan, een van de laatste bastions van geïnstitutionaliseerde vrouwenhaat. Ze dagen eeuwen van traditie uit om de redenen voor dit hardnekkige en onrechtvaardige verbod bloot te leggen.
