synopsis

In the film what you see is a construction of my initials GDS (Gery De Smet) with straw fitted in a wooden frame (10m diameter). I set it on fire to distance myself from my own narcissism and megalomania, and that of artists in general. While it burns, hundreds of spectators lose track of time and stay until the colossus collapses. Then, some people approach.
Ce que vous voyez est une construction de mes initiales GDS (Gery De Smet) avec de la paille remplissant un cadre en bois (10 m de diamètre). J’y ai mis le feu afin de prendre des distances avec mon propre narcissisme, ma mégalomanie, et celle des artistes en général. Pendant que cela brûle, des centaines de spectateurs perdent le contrôle du temps et restent jusqu’à ce que le colosse s’effondre. Ensuite, quelques personnes s’approchent.
