synopsis

The Sessions is an intimate documentary following a young student in the aftermath of sexual violence by someone she trusted. In trauma therapy, she begins to reclaim her life, step by step. Outside those rooms, she speaks to almost no one. With intimacy and restraint, the film pulls you into one woman’s fight to reclaim her voice and future.
Les Sessions est un documentaire intimiste qui suit une jeune étudiante dans les mois qui suivent une agression sexuelle par une personne en qui elle avait confiance. Au fil de sa thérapie du traumatisme, elle tente de reconstruire sa vie, pas à pas. En dehors de ce cadre, elle garde le silence: rares sont ceux à qui elle confie ce qu’elle a vécu. Avec pudeur et sensibilité, Les Sessions nous plonge dans le combat d’une femme pour retrouver confiance en elle et dans le monde qui l’entoure.
De Sessies is een intieme documentaire die een jonge studente volgt in de nasleep van seksueel geweld door iemand die ze vertrouwde. Tijdens haar traumatherapie begint ze haar leven terug op te bouwen – stap voor stap. Daarbuiten spreekt ze met bijna niemand over wat haar is overkomen. Met intimiteit en terughoudendheid neemt De Sessies je mee in de strijd van een vrouw om het vertrouwen in zichzelf en de wereld terug te vinden.
